Open Audacity .aup4 and .aup3 project files in your browser, play the mix and export WAV or MP3 — nothing is uploaded.

Overview

Waveward opens Audacity project files — .aup4 from Audacity 4 and .aup3 from Audacity 3 — directly in the browser. The project is parsed on your own machine and is never uploaded.

  • See every track and clip on a timeline, with the sample rate, block count and stored sample format
  • Play the stereo mix and export it as WAV or MP3
  • Inspect a damaged project (the SQLite error 11 and error 101 cases): which document still decodes, which audio blocks survive, and rebuild a project from what is left
  • Hand an .aup4 back to Audacity 3.7 by rewriting the two version stamps and dropping the Audacity-4-only clip fields; the audio is copied byte for byte
  • Export per-track stems

Opening a project, playing it and exporting the stereo mix are free. Recovery, downgrade and stems are a one-time $19 license, no subscription. Works on a Mac, PC or Chromebook.
