Overview

Audacity is a free, open-source audio editor and recorder. It supports multitrack recording and editing, cutting, pasting, mixing, and non-destructive editing of audio.

It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and is used for editing recordings, podcasts, and music as well as general audio cleanup. It is developed by volunteers and distributed under the GNU General Public License.
